Overview

My grandfather J. Gregory Pool, Sr. had a vision. As one of 42 charter members who helped launch the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. He set his signs on developing a high quality golf course in Cary. He accomplished this by building Macgregor Downs Country Club, and the rest is history. As Cary started to grow the Poole family continued its development activities and in 1966 MacGregor Downs Country Club Golf Club opened with over 400 home sites and a championship golf course that challenges the most experienced golfer. Today there is one remaining parcel to develop to complete the vision. Balmoral at MacGregor symbolizes a new era in residential living focusing on being the triangle's premier no maintenance development. The name itself taken from British aristocracy connotes both richness and luxury while the architecture symbolizes timelessness and understated elegance.
